Institute for Sustainability Training & Industrial Modernization
The Verschuren Centre initiated the project in 2014 to:
- Improve the environment performance and competitiveness of organizations across Atlantic Canada.
- Train businesses and sectors in sustainability improvement to facilitate their access to both consolidated and emerging international markets.
- Create opportunities for applied research that can benefit students, researchers and other interested parties while contributing their efforts to alleviate sustainability issues in Atlantic Canada and International markets.
Following the success of several training courses in 2015, the Centre collaborated with the Nova Scotia Community College broadening the scope of ISTIM to become a business development unit delivering environmentally sustainable and clean tech solutions to companies/organizations in international markets. Capitalizing on proven leadership in areas of clean tech and sustainability-related solutions in energy, food and resources management to businesses, governments, and communities, this partnership provides a premier, one-stop sources for quality and real-time solutions.
