Elizabeth MacCormick

Research Assistant
Elizabeth MacCormick is a Bio-Products Researcher who engages with local agriculture and marine-based industries to develop value-added solutions for residual biomass or otherwise underutilized by-products.
After spending over a decade working on sustainable solutions for coastal and agricultural communities, Elizabeth understands the importance of recognizing and communicating the many social and environmental complexities involved in sustainable development.
Throughout her academic and professional career, Elizabeth has worked closely with industry, government, and community stakeholders to advance sustainable solutions to industry issues facing marine and agricultural businesses in the Atlantic region.
In addition to her research and professional experience, Elizabeth is committed to promoting best management practices in natural ecosystems through her volunteer work with the Bras d’Or Lake Biosphere Reserve Association.
