August 9, 2017 – Rodger Cuzner, Member of Parliament for Cape Breton – Canso, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), announced funding for two clean technology projects related to the fish processing industry. The Verschuren Centre’s Bioproducts Innovation Group recieved $749,700. The funding is through ACOA’s business development program and will support development of a scalable, pre-pilot biorefinery platform to research and develop value-add products from waste streams.
